My name is Mark and I started my fitness journey just like anyone else. I wanted to get healthier and look great!

So, let me take you back to how this whole thing started to give you a better understanding of where I started from.

I started when I weighed at my heaviest: 270 pounds(122kg). At the time, I was wearing 2XL in men's t-shirt, and I was wearing 42 pants.

The thing that motivated me to get healthier was my sister’s comment “OMG… Look at yourself in the mirror…. You look FAT!!!” She said that with a disgusted look on her face.

The next day I went to the gym and talked to a personal trainer.

The trainer did standard fitness measurements: height, weight, body composition, blood pressure, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and asked me about my family medical history.

At the end of the assessment, the trainer said based on the results I am considered to be obese and I'm on the borderline of being diabetic (diabetes run in my family. Both my mom and dad have it. They take medicine for it).

That assessment scared the shit out of me. Right there and then I said to myself: I know I am FAT today but one day I won’t be.

From that day onward, I got serious about getting and staying healthier!

I went online and researched a lot of different kind of exercise programs and diet plans. Some seemed realistic and others not so much. So, I took a few things from one plan and few from another plan to create a custom plan to fit my needs.

My first day in the gym was very interesting one. I started off with doing dumbbell curls (get ready for this) with 5 pound(2.26 kg) dumbbells. I bench-pressed total of 45 pounds (yup…just the bar).

I didn’t care if everyone was looking at me like I was the weakest guy in the gym. The way I looked at it was everyone has a starting point. So, that was mine.

Every week I kept adding more weights and I was getting stronger and stronger. After 12 weeks of continuous working out and eating clean, I was started to see some serious results:

I have been doing this for a while now and I have lost over to 80 pounds(36 kg).

Now I am really enjoy being fit and looking great:
